GSN’s newest quiz show The Chase and its star, Mark “The Beast” Labbett, came, saw, and conquered during their debut Tuesday. The first episode premiered to 511,000 viewers. It retained 97% of its lead-in audience. Throughout the evening a total of over one million viewers tuned in to see The Beast take on some of America’s smartest quizzers for a chance at hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you saw the second episode, at 10:00PM ET, you saw three BuzzerBlog readers win $180,000, the biggest cash prize GSN has ever given away in a game show, and we could not be happier to see it.
Beyond its total audience, The Chase was a major winner in key demographics. Year to date it was up 59% in total viewers, 58% in P18-49, 75% in W18-49, 109% in P25-54, and 98% in W25-54. Great results all around.
Minute to Win It also had a great night, scoring a total viewership of 596,000. It hit season highs in total viewers and W25-54. Over 1.5 million people watched GSN’s lineup of new originals last night. They have to be pretty happy with those results. Congratulations to them. They put out two very engaging, fun originals and the results show.
